We help students sitting for the PSLE prepare for the examinations through continuous and consistent simulated practice throughout the year. These simulated examinations are then marked by NIE trained teachers. and analyzed to understand how the student is doing. The marker then compiles a customized report with tables and graphs which provide extensive and useful insight into the student's performance. Over the course of a year we continuously accumulate valuable data about the students performance in these simulated papers and chart his progress. This progress is also shared with the students in the reports This understanding is then communicated to the students through the use of simple statistics and graphs. Having their work marked, reviewed and tracked by an experienced teacher not only provides the student with valuable and actionable insight, it can actually mean the difference between good and great grades.
The Process
We set the SEPs according to what topics the student would have learnt by the time he attempts the SEP. We play it safe by following the sequence of topics given in popularly used school textbooks.
The SEPs are posted on the 1st of every month. Each SEP has a due date by which the student needs to complete it.
The SEPs are posted on our online assessment platform. This provides the student the convenience of doing it at his or her own time. This also saves them the effort of having to travel to a specific location on a certain time and day to do the SEPs.
After the cut-off date our markers would then grade the SEPs manually and sieve through the data to compile the reports within a week. This is a time consuming process the turnaround time can come to a week. We will do our best to deliver the report sooner than later.
The final report is then compiled and emailed to the parent as a PDF document. The report includes data on the most recently completed SEP and the cumulative results and analysis of all previously attempted SEPs.
The parents play an important role in this entire process. Upon receiving the report it is important that they review it with their child and discuss what the insights could be had and what their child could do to improve their performance in the next paper to reach their targets.
Doing a paper a month per subject provides them with consistent practice and consequently the expertise in navigating through the actual paper with ease and confidence.
Starting their revision early helps to calm examination jitters as the year progresses. The growing familiarity with the format and demands of a full length paper will help reduce anxiety as well.
Our reports clearly identify weak areas, be it topical or question types so they they can put more focus into those areas.
Preparing for the PSLE becomes a year long affair rather that final month push for excellent grades. This increases overall retention and reduces the risk of going blank when faced with the actual examination paper.
